Project “AlgoBrush meets Louise Lawler”

#AlgoBrushMeetsLouiseLawler? Another exciting art project by Eva Leopoldi. This project combines appropriation art with the use of an image-generating AI – in Leopoldi’s case exclusively Midjourney. This is what the artist says about her project:

The well-known artist Louise Lawler has made twelve of her photographic works available for free use by anyone interested as so-called ‘tracings’ or ‘colouring pictures’ during the Corona period.
These tracings can be downloaded as PDFs and edited on the MoMA website.

When I discovered this in 2022, I was immediately excited because I am still an enthusiastic fan of appropriation art. However, it took another two years before I took action and developed the #AlgoBrushMeetsLouiseLawler project.

The project is described in detail on my AI website AlgoBrush-Art https://www.algobrush-art.com/leopoldi-art-meets-louise-lawler/.

The main requirement for the edits is artistic work with the help of an image-generating AI.

As an appetiser, here is one of the twelve edits I created using one of Louise Lawler’s colouring pictures:

By the way, I’m still looking for 1 or 2 artists who would like to take part in the project. You can also find this information on the KI website. Just write to me. Of course, a final project book is also planned for this project.
